I will try to keep this page updated. I am gathering info from many sources while the meeting of the cabinet is underway.
Protesters can clearly be heard in the background
Does not look like Johnson will be announcing a GE tonight. If that is in the plans, I think it will be on Wednesday.
As a side note, Tory MP Rory Stewart is reported to have said he “would still love to be prime minister”
Hillary Ben has tweeted the bill they hope will stop no-deal Brexit to be introduced tomorrow. We will see what tactics Boris will use to stop this. I personally doubt he will call a GE before 31st October.
Apparently, Amber Rudd has asked Boris not to deselect MPs who oppose no deal.
Chris Beauchamp, the chief market analyst at the financial trading group IG, said:
“Anyone who thinks that an election will solve the UK’s political crisis has not been paying attention over the past three years.”
Seems there are some rebels in the Tory party who will still oppose Boris and No deal.
