This Government wants you to believe that they are funding schools properly, the facts speak otherwise.
Since 2015, 91% of schools have faced cuts resulting in -£5.4 billion in funding in real terms.
But what about the hidden costs? The costs which we never hear about?
I have 4 children, 3 adults and one 12 year old daughter.
When my other 3 attended secondary school, it was a different experience altogether.
Now, with my daughter in her 2nd year at high school, I’m finding I’m having to pay out more and more.
I had to buy the English novel she’s studying, her school planner with Timetable, and quite a substantial amount of money for her Science books and materials.
I absolutely do not hold the school responsible- budget cuts have affected them badly and if we didn’t pay, our children’s education would be affected.
However, can you imagine having 2 or 3 children at the school and having to pay out multiple times?
My daughter has only been back for 2 weeks and I know more expenses will follow. Again, I don’t hold the school liable for this, but the Government.
Labour will introduce a National Education Service, which gives equality of education for all regardless of background.
They will also ensure everyone pays the right levels of tax, and clamp down on tax evasion.
What’s not to like?
